Texas Treasure
My treasure from Texas. We had a really good time. My brother was very surprised when we all showed up...Treasure!
The trip was smooth and it was great to be with my brothers and sister. Here are pictures from the trip. One afternoon was nap time, you'll understand when you see the pictures.
I will add pictures from the zoo soon. Hope they make you smile too.
Ok, well, I tried to upload a movie that I created from the pictures, but cannot get it to upload and cannot actually contact anyone about it so, a picture a day I suppose.

Senior Pics

Wow, it's hard to believe that it's time for my son to have his senior pictures taken.
He's my baby, and is becoming such an impressive young man, and no it's not just his mother that thinks that. This is gunna be a hard school, (for me) i'ts the last everything in school for my children.
This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago, check out the hair blowing in the wind. Since then he has had his hair cut short..really short.
So, next week, you'll get a peak at senior pictures.

Treasure Today
Tonite will be Mico's last start in a High School Football game. He was so nervous this morning (which I can understand with the guard across from him @ 250 lbs.). The treasure, I hope, will be that I get a good picture of him in his uniform (I finally got a memory card for my camera...yeah!) It is really hard to believe that this is his last year at home with me. I do treasure these days!

Wow Treasure

I was looking for a picture of my niece, Sammy (she sillily thinks that she is not one of my treasures) Silly Girl. I ran across this picture. This was taken, of all my nieces and nephew and my children, in 2002. Every July 4th holiday, my family would take a trip to Victoria, Kansas. My brother, Augustine (Sid) is a Franciscan Brother and lived at the friary there. We were allowed to stay in the "dormitory" and it was a blast! Here is a link to that website http://www.kansastravel.org/cathedralofheplains.htm The catheral is beautiful, you should see it...Every year was fun! Brother Gus now lives in Denver and we don't make the trek to Kansas every summer. Of course now, most of us make the trip to wherever a niece or nephew graduation is. Almost as much fun! Look how young they all are! Cassie would have been 13 and Mic 10, now Cassie almost 21 and Mic is 17. They are all growing up..there will be only 7 more High School graduations out of all these kids. Man I'm getting old!
Mico Treasure
My son came home last night so excited. He hasn't played football since an injury his freshman year. Now a senior, and playing football, he has not started a game but, tonight is the night...he was jumping around, which then made the dogs jump around. I'm as excited for him as he is!
I love you MicoMan! The best of luck...of course I don't believe in luck even though I say it~ Work hard, pray before each play(remember) ALL things are possible through HIM (remember Red Rover Mico...remember~inside joke)...Play well my Son, play well!

Daughter Treasure

Another treasure coming up is a birthday for my daughter. She will turn 21 years old. Hard to beleive that she is now a mommy, a very good mommy. I remember holding her and looking at her and wondering how I could love someone so much.
Below is a little birthday poem for her.
For Cassie, on Her Birthday
It's your birthday, but I got the gift...a gentle, sweet, beautiful daughter who is always a pleasure to be with. You glow with sensitivity and compassion generated from the depths of your warm heart and and kind soul. A loving mom, a peacemaker,a woman full of the joy of life, that's you. Anyone who spends time with you is privileged to know such an extraordinary person. You are a great joy in my life. I love you and cherish you and treasure you and wish that every one of your birthdays will be the happiest yet.

Treasure but, I have to wait

My brother, Kevin, (he's the one in from looking to the side) has a birthday, his 50th. Some of my family, from around this area, are going to be flying to Gainsville, TX to surprise him. His wife and friends know, I can't wait. We are taking Daddy with us, he's really not looking forward to flying. I told him yesterday that it would be a much shorter trip than if we would drive and we can spend more time with family. I think he gave me the same look that I must have given him when I was a teenager...like "whatever"
Anyway, I can't wait to be around family. It is like therapy to me and I could use it.

Thankful Treasure
When I awoke with a start Monday morning at 4:30 a.m. I knew something was wrong....My heart was beating so fast and was I a little short of breath. My first thought was that I must of had a bad dream. I will take a bath and calm down. Well, by 7:00 a.m. with my heart racing and very out of breath it was off to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. According to WebMD, Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heartbeat. Atrial fibrillation increases the risk of stroke and heart disease. Signs include dizziness, weakness, and fatigue. It is treated with medication and lifestyle changes. So, with that and following a visit to the cardiologist, i now have take an aspirin a day and take "lopressor" I think that's the name of the meds that the cardiologist prescribed, I only take it if I have another "episode". I do have an ecocardiogram scheduled for next Monday so, we will see what they find from it.
~Treasure~ The nurses and doctors were wonderful. Not alarming me about my symptoms and answering all of my silly questions. Thank God that we still have a hospital in our small town with competent staff. Treasure! Again, I find that my most precious treasure is my family and friends. With all the visits and phone calls, it makes me realize how blessed I truly am!

Yesterday Treasure
~I asked my sister Beth to share with me, a poem that she had received from family for her birthday ( I won't reveal what birthday). It was a frame with a picture of our Mom (the one below is not the same picture, I don't have that one scanned yet, the children are my oldest sister, Monica and my olders brother Matt-I'm the 8 of 10 children and hery are 1 & 2) , who passed away in 1977, can it be that long ago? It also had a very nice poem. So, here it is...I assure you that I will not be able to get through typing this poem without tears. I hope that it brings you closer to your mother, whether she is with you now or not!
~
Mother, you're always with me,
You're the whisper of the leaves, as I walk down the street. You're the cool hand on my brow, when I'm not well
~
Mother, you're always with me,
You're the whisper of the leaves, as I walk down the street. You're the cool hand on my brow, when I'm not wellYou live inside my laughter, You're crystallized in my every tear drop...
You're the place I came from, My first home...
You're the map I follow, with every step I take,
You're my first love and my first heartbreak...
And nothing on earth can ever separate us, Not time, Not space, Not even death will ever separate you from me.

Treasure?
Last Saturday morning, while moving my sprinkler, I forgot to lift my feet over the hose. So, with no flying lessons (or landing) and wet, slippery grass, I broke my left wrist in 2 places. I have had to wear a splint until today when I got my very neon pink cast (that was the only color they had). Now, of course I must find the treasure!
- First, thank you God, but why was my daughter @ my house @ 8 a.m...well, how blessed am I, how could I have driven myself to the hospital? Thank You Sis! TREASURE!
- In my city, a population of 2,596, the hospital clinic was open until noon, with a Doctor, nurses and an x-ray tech there. TREASURE! By the way, if you would like to know about Kimball, my hometown, take a look...http://www.ci.kimball.ne.us/
- After going to work later that day, at Main Street Market (Grocery), I was amazed @ the amount of people that were genuinely concerned for me, even those that I don't know. I also could not believe all those with, again genuine, offers to help in any way possible. TREASURE!
- I also have to add the pharmasutical companies, I was in quite a bit of pain, the shot that they gave me not only helped the pain but also calmed me down, adrenilin was coursing through my veins after the injury! Treasure?
- My daughter washed dishes for me tonite! TREASURE!
- I am quickly learning how useful it is having the use of both hands! In about 8-12 weeks I will again have the use of both hands, God willing-TREASURE!
- Having so many kid me about falling-Treasure?
I will try to keep this updated, they will replace this cast in three weeks to assure that everything is where itis supposed to be (it's weird typing with one hand). And, as soon as I have a card for my camera, I will be sure to share a pictures of my very neon pink cast!

Hmmm
I posted the other day that I cleaned off the card in my camera...just cleaned out my camera. When I tried to take some pictures, the camera told me that "memory full". I opened the little door on my camera to take out the memory card...guess what, no memory card.
I cannot find one here in town so, it will have to wait until I take a trip out of town.

Oh My Treasures!
I was reminded last night what a treasure this wonderful woman is to me. I went to supper with a friend last night...I call her friend, she is a treasure of a friend, an unexpected treasure! She has stood by me even through my divorce to her father. I share things with her that I do not with most. We talked, laughed, cried and talked some more in our 4 hour time last night...I'm sure that it would have been longer but, the restaurant was closing. I need to tell her what a special treasure she is to me! Make sure that your treasure knows how important they are to you!

Treasure Finders Long Day
My treasure for today is one that some might not understand or agree with. I got home from my day job @ about 4:45, after working for 8 hours (8 1/2), I changed into my uniform to go to my second job. I already have about 57 hours in for the week...Okay, I know that it sounds like I am complaining. I am not...my treasure, in this small town, being able to find 2 good jobs!
More treasure-I have finally cleaned off my card from my camera so that I can take some pictures outside....treasure...here are some more of my treasures!

my son, Mic. Mic has been in Sioux Falls, SD, staying with my sister and her family, since July 5...I miss him!
They kind of have the same look...don't they?!

Treasure Today
Treasure today-the people that I work with. They not only support me in my position but encourage me in my personal "struggles"!
Ok, I can't believe how fast the days go by...so, that's my excuse for not posting for awhile!
I must take pictures, I put the milk can that I found at my Dad's in my front yard by the hostas. My Daughter and son-in-law gave me solar outdoor lights for my birthday so I also added one of them by the milk can.
Must take pictures.

First Treasure Finder Blog
Welcome to Treasure Finder. My treasures are not only things, they are God and my family, the smiles from my children and grandchildren, they are helping someone or watching someone help others, they are my answered and unanswered prayers!
I will be sharing my treasures with others, praying that they can realize all of these little things are TREASURES!
I also hope this blog will keep my Family(treasure) "caught up" with each other. We are spread out all over the United States.
My Treasure found today was at the Vet this morning. My granddaughter, DeLacy, was with us when taking her dog, Sophie, to get her vaccinations. She started crying when she saw the Vet Tech giving poor little Sophie those shots. Why is this a treasure? D's reaction shows me that she, at 16 months old, has compassion!
