Tonite will be Mico's last start in a High School Football game. He was so nervous this morning (which I can understand with the guard across from him @ 250 lbs.). The treasure, I hope, will be that I get a good picture of him in his uniform (I finally got a memory card for my camera...yeah!) It is really hard to believe that this is his last year at home with me. I do treasure these days!

Wow Treasure

I was looking for a picture of my niece, Sammy (she sillily thinks that she is not one of my treasures) Silly Girl. I ran across this picture. This was taken, of all my nieces and nephew and my children, in 2002. Every July 4th holiday, my family would take a trip to Victoria, Kansas. My brother, Augustine (Sid) is a Franciscan Brother and lived at the friary there. We were allowed to stay in the "dormitory" and it was a blast! Here is a link to that website http://www.kansastravel.org/cathedralofheplains.htm The catheral is beautiful, you should see it...Every year was fun! Brother Gus now lives in Denver and we don't make the trek to Kansas every summer. Of course now, most of us make the trip to wherever a niece or nephew graduation is. Almost as much fun! Look how young they all are! Cassie would have been 13 and Mic 10, now Cassie almost 21 and Mic is 17. They are all growing up..there will be only 7 more High School graduations out of all these kids. Man I'm getting old!
Mico Treasure
My son came home last night so excited. He hasn't played football since an injury his freshman year. Now a senior, and playing football, he has not started a game but, tonight is the night...he was jumping around, which then made the dogs jump around. I'm as excited for him as he is!
I love you MicoMan! The best of luck...of course I don't believe in luck even though I say it~ Work hard, pray before each play(remember) ALL things are possible through HIM (remember Red Rover Mico...remember~inside joke)...Play well my Son, play well!

Daughter Treasure

Another treasure coming up is a birthday for my daughter. She will turn 21 years old. Hard to beleive that she is now a mommy, a very good mommy. I remember holding her and looking at her and wondering how I could love someone so much.
Below is a little birthday poem for her.
For Cassie, on Her Birthday
It's your birthday, but I got the gift...a gentle, sweet, beautiful daughter who is always a pleasure to be with. You glow with sensitivity and compassion generated from the depths of your warm heart and and kind soul. A loving mom, a peacemaker,a woman full of the joy of life, that's you. Anyone who spends time with you is privileged to know such an extraordinary person. You are a great joy in my life. I love you and cherish you and treasure you and wish that every one of your birthdays will be the happiest yet.

Treasure but, I have to wait

My brother, Kevin, (he's the one in from looking to the side) has a birthday, his 50th. Some of my family, from around this area, are going to be flying to Gainsville, TX to surprise him. His wife and friends know, I can't wait. We are taking Daddy with us, he's really not looking forward to flying. I told him yesterday that it would be a much shorter trip than if we would drive and we can spend more time with family. I think he gave me the same look that I must have given him when I was a teenager...like "whatever"
Anyway, I can't wait to be around family. It is like therapy to me and I could use it.
